Most young companies do not have an awareness problem. They have a precision problem. More activity only distributes the ambiguity faster.

The cost of a fuzzy centre

When a company cannot explain what it is unusually good at, every team fills the gap with its own interpretation. Product adds breadth. Marketing adds language. Sales adds exceptions. The surface area grows while the centre stays soft.

The answer is rarely another campaign. It is choosing which promise the company is prepared to organise itself around.

Subtraction creates velocity

A clear strategy removes decisions from the system. It tells a product team what not to build, a commercial team which customer not to chase, and a brand team which story not to tell.

That can feel restrictive at first. In practice, it returns time and conviction to everyone doing the work.
